Kor Beng
Executive Chairman
Kor Beng was appointed as Executive Director on 22 July 2019. He was re-designated from Managing Director, a position he held since 25 October 2019, to the Executive Chairman of S & F Capital Berhad (“S&F Cap”) on 28 June 2024. He holds a Degree in Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan.
He has more than forty (40) years of experience in the construction business. He is currently a shareholder and director of several private limited companies which are principally involved in the business of civil infrastructure engineering works, building construction and property development. He has been actively involved in the management and operations of these companies and steered the growth of these companies.
Dr. Kor Yann Kae was appointed as Executive Director of S&F Cap on 25 October 2019. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Engineering) degree and a Bachelor of Engineering degree, both from The University of Sydney, Australia.
Since completion of his doctorate studies, he spent five (5) years in Sydney, Australia, working with Caltex Refineries (NSW) Pty Ltd, as a senior process engineer in the Major Projects department, reporting directly to the refinery’s engineering manager. Before and after his employment with Caltex, he also worked for the engineering design subsidiary of Transfield Services Ltd and similarly had assumed major roles on various projects across Australia.
During his final years with Caltex, he worked full-time on the project to decommission and convert the Kurnell refinery into Australia’s largest fuel import terminal. Despite the complexity of the project, the project was completed ahead of schedule and within the allocated budget, with no incidents.
Kor Yann Shiun
Executive Director
Kor Yann Shiun was appointed as Non-Independent Executive Director of S&F Cap on 25 October 2019. He graduated from University of Sydney, Australia, holds a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering in year 2008. He began his career working in an international engineering consulting firm, URS Australia (“URS”), as an engineer focusing in projects in the field of geotechnical and civil works. In year 2009, he left URS and joined HAB Construction Sdn. Bhd. (“HAB”) in Malaysia, a construction company focusing in constructing high rise buildings across Malaysia as a Project Manager. During his tenure with HAB, he was involved in the construction of several high rise buildings in Kuala Lumpur. In Year 2013, he left HAB and joined S&F Construction Sdn. Bhd. where he is currently the director of the company. He is responsible for the project operation, tender, sales, purchasing and management of the company.
Tan Tai Ming
Non-Independent Non-Executive Director
Tan Tai Ming was appointed as Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of S&F Cap on 25 October 2019. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK. He has many years of working experiences in several areas of financial services and investment banking. He started working with PricewaterhouseCoopers in London as an Auditor and upon his return, joined Usaha Tegas Sdn. Bhd. (UTSB) Group of Companies where he was involved in the areas of corporate finance, investor relations and treasury. Subsequently, he went on to join the corporate finance department of OSK Investment Bank, specializing in the areas of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) covering the ASEAN region. Following the merger with RHB Investment Bank, he was attached with the Financial Advisory Unit, covering M&A as well as Corporate and Investment Banking Services for deal origination on wider range of investment banking transactions and relationship management with clients from small to large corporations in broad range of industry sectors.
Arthur Law Hian Tat
Independent Non-Executive Director
Arthur Law Hian Tat was appointed as Independent Non-Executive Director of S&F Cap on 22 October 2020. He holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from Monash University, Australia. He is an accountant by profession. In his more than 40 years of experience as an accountant, he has worked in Malaysia, Australia, Cambodia and Laos. He is a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
Dr. Ir. Che Ariffin Bin Hassan
Independent Non-Executive Director
Dr. Ir. Che Ariffin Bin Hassan was appointed as Independent Non-Executive Director of S&F Cap on 16 August 2024. He is currently a registered professional engineer with the Boards of Engineers Malaysia, fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia and a member of the Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering and Master Degree in Geotechnical Engineering from University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. He graduated from University of Glasgow, Scotland with an Honours Degree in Civil Engineering in 1979.
He had previously served as a lecturer in Civil Engineering in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia before joining the private sectors in 1994 to work as a director for several companies. He currently holds directorship in a private limited engineering consultancy firm registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia and Ministry of Finance Malaysia. He has more than 40 years of knowledge and experience in the industry.
Dr. Ir. Samad Bin Solbai
Independent Non-Executive Director
Dr. Ir. Samad Bin Solbai was appointed as Independent Non-Executive Director of S&F Cap on 5 September 2024. He is currently a registered professional engineer (Mechanical Engineering) with the Boards of Engineers Malaysia. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge, UK, Master of Engineering Science in Materials Engineering from Monash University, Australia and Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Caulfield Institute of Technology, Australia.
He has an extensive background in Engineering and Projects Management particularly in the oil and gas industry, with over 20 years of experience. He has held various leadership positions, including Chief Executive Officer and Head of the Oil & Gas Division at prominent companies such as Sime Darby Bhd and P.T. Gunanusa Utama Fabricators in Indonesia. In addition to his industry experience, he has a strong academic background, having served as a lecturer and Dean at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Throughout his career, he has been recognized through certifications and awards, including ISO9001 certification and the "Quality Management Excellence Award." (1994). His professional qualifications and experience make him a respected figure in the industry. He continues to share his knowledge as Director in several companies and also through courses and seminars on safety, quality, management, and leadership. Currently, he serves as the Chairman of a private limited consulting engineering company.
